SJAHU March 18th Meeting
Amy E. Hull, M.Ed will be speaking on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion are three very distinct words that encompass deep meaning. In this interactive session, participants will learn the language behind DE&I. What is it? What is Equity vs. Equality? Why is the “E” now inserted into the acronym? What does this have to do with you and others? Why is it meaningful to know? What can DE&I do for you? “I’m afraid to say the wrong thing!” Let’s dig in. Progress lives on the edge of discomfort and we are only moving onward, so let’s do this together.
Amy has a B.S. in Biology (Ohio U.) an M.Ed. in Education (Xavier U.), and another M.Ed. in Administration (University of Cincinnati). A former educator and now a national corporate leader in diversity, equity and inclusion, she works to improve relationship building, leadership, belonging, engagement, and turning DE&I strategy into actionable results. Amy is the owner of Equity LDI, LLC, a consulting firm for DE&I and Leadership Development guidance. She received the Next Generation Leadership Award in 2015 (NKU, NKY), was a 2019 Top 100 Working Woman of Color (Cincinnati Herald/MAO Brand), and is featured in Oyler, an Amazon Prime Documentary. Amy is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a Board member for the non-profit eXclusive Services, LLC working to help the minority community with drug rehabilitation, prevention, and mental health for adults and youth in Ohio.
